Who we are
A founder who has spent a career making Chinese cooking something a plant can produce, the team building the United States side of it, and the offices behind them.
Zexuan Liu
Zexuan Liu is the founder and chairman of WheaTech, and sets the direction of the United States business. He has spent his career building food businesses that scale, and moving Chinese flavor into standardized retail and foodservice channels.
He ran JD.com’s campus marketing department from 2009 to 2012, where campus GMV reached RMB 10.8 billion a year — roughly $1.5 billion — and started the campus pickup-point network. In 2015 he joined the first cohort of the Lakeside Entrepreneurship Research Center, founded Xiaomai Commune, and moved into new retail.
Standardized Chinese cuisine became the work in 2017: he invested in fresh-food plants and started the Master’s Flavor initiative, and in 2019 brought nine restaurant brands together to launch the Dezhou industrial park. He became a formal disciple of Sun Dali, a veteran national cooking master, in 2018, and of Dong Zhenxiang — Da Dong — in 2023.
WheaTech is Da Dong’s sole licensed supply-chain and technology partner in the United States. WheaTech Japan Kabushiki Kaisha was established in 2024 with Liu as chairman and general manager, and the group’s Asia-Pacific headquarters opened in Singapore in 2025.
William Wu
Runs the day-to-day of the United States business: operations, financing and the systems it is managed on. A repeat founder — he built a restaurant-delivery company and a foodservice-infrastructure company in China before this one.

Michael Wang
Twenty-seven years across the full path Chinese restaurant brands take into the United States. He has run restaurants in Minnesota since 1997, worked closely on a Chinese restaurant group’s landing in Los Angeles in 2012, and founded the food processing company Pava Inc in 2020. He runs the Irwindale plant — the retrofit, USDA compliance, local hiring and production — and leads sales into the foodservice channel.
